Dana Adams Schmidt's Armageddon in the Middle East was written in the 1970s, and while it is somewhat dated, Schmidt does demonstrate a biblical perspective of Israel as a Zionist state over against the Arab nations that surround it, particularly in the grand scheme of God's design. Schmidt comes from a secular perspective to write about a modern history of Israel in the world.
